Custom Mugs: The Handle Is Part of the Design

A corporate mug needs to feel right in the hand and fit the desk routine. Review the handle, base and artwork orientation together.

Most people do not inspect a mug as a branding object. They reach for the handle, fill it and find a place to put it down. Those ordinary actions are a useful design test.

Leave enough room for fingers

Compare handle clearance and the way the mug is held. A shape that looks compact can feel quite different once filled. Look at base stability and the space available on a typical desk.

If the gift is for a shared pantry, think about storage as well as use.

Check which way the artwork faces

A logo can face the person drinking, the person opposite them or a different direction depending on the layout. Consider both left-handed and right-handed use before settling on one placement.

Curvature and the handle limit the available area. Ask for the actual dimensions rather than judging an enlarged mock-up.

Confirm care for the finished mug

Do not assume microwave or dishwasher suitability from appearance. Check the guidance for the specific material and decorated product.

For custom mug orders, also identify how they will be handed over or transported. Protective packing deserves attention if the gift has a journey after it leaves the office.
