Custom Bags in Singapore: Shape Matters as Much as Material
A tote, pouch and drawstring bag carry different things. Build your bag brief around the contents before choosing fabric or printing.
Put the intended contents on a table before opening the bag catalogue. The largest object tells you something about width and height. The whole pile tells you whether the bag needs depth, structure or separate compartments.
Flat bags and gussets solve different problems
A flat bag may be fine for papers or a light garment. Boxed gifts and drinkware take up volume, so the base and side construction become more important. Check usable dimensions and the size of the opening, not just the measurements of a bag lying flat.
Handles matter too. A bag that will be carried on a shoulder needs a different check from one intended for a short handover.
The fabric is part of the experience
Canvas, jute and non-woven materials have different textures and visual character. Those differences affect both the feel of the bag and how artwork reads on it. Material names alone do not establish a carrying capacity or an environmental benefit.
The first packing trial is revealing
Use the actual items, including their boxes or sleeves. Close the bag if it has a closure, pick it up and carry it for a short distance. Check what happens at the opening and handles.
That simple trial answers several practical questions a beautiful empty-bag photograph cannot. It also gives you a much clearer reason for choosing one format over another.
